At 11:23hrs this morning, a smell of smoke inside was dispatched off of South Gateway Dr. in Company 12’s first Due. Engine 7 responded from Company 12 quickly with three qualified volunteers, and Fire Chief 7 taking command of the scene. Crews from Engine 12, Engine 7, Medic 2 and mutual aid from Fredericksburg Tower 1 investigated the building for any smoke or haze. Found a faulty HVAC system was the cause of the odor inside of the building. Crews operated swiftly and safely throughout the incident.
